Top Picks: Eight to Look for at Wanted Design

Wanted Design, now open (as of May 17) in Industry City in Brooklyn and starting Saturday May 20 at the Terminal Stores in Chelsea, has established a welcome reputation for promoting new talent, airing ideas, and bringing together young and seasoned designers from around the world in shows that run through May 23.  MODERN Magazine asked contributing editor and veteran show-goer Paul Clemence to anticipate some of the highlights at Wanted Design in Manhattan.

ALESSI

Conceived by the Alessi Museum and Design Museum Holon, the exhibitIN-Possible” features a selection of fifty projects by such iconic designers as Zaha Hadid and Alessandro Mendini that never made it into production. This offers an interesting look at visionary design concepts, from the 1920s to more recent, that never materialized but here are presented as an inside view at the way Alessi works.
