Following the success of the first ever Collecting Design: History, Collections, Highlights course, MODERN Magazine and New York School of Interior Design are excited to announce the return of the program this fall. Phillips de Pury & Company and Jumeirah Group will once again sponsor the 10 week course, culminating in a behind the scenes tour of an exhibition led by a Phillips de Pury specialist.
The fall series will run from September 24 to December 18, with classes offered on Tuesday mornings and Monday evenings. Daniella Ohad Smith returns to lecture and host key experts, including collectors, curators, dealers, writers, designers, and architects—who will cover a range of topics from The American Arts and Crafts Movement, Viennese Design and the Wiener Werkstatte, to French Art Deco and The American Studio Movement.
Can’t make it to every class? Students will now be able to register for individual classes, instead of the full 10 session series. For a complete schedule of classes and to register, please visit the school’s website http://www.nysid.edu/collectingdesign.
MODERN Magazine takes a fresh and intelligent approach as it examines buildings and interiors, furniture and objects, craft and art—delving into the creative process and offering sage advice for both the seasoned and novice collector or connoisseur.
